  • Sat May 18 - NEPA Day Drive – NEPA Section Event
    We will meet at 10 AM at the Dunkin Donuts in Fogelsville (241 PA-100, Fogelsville PA 18051 - north of interstate 78 on Rte 100, next to Weis Food Market). The Club will provide coffee and doughnuts before the trip for NEPA section members (join by the event date and you will qualify).
    We will depart Dunkin Donuts at 10:45 AM and head West over interesting back roads to our destination of Kauffman's Bar-B-Que Restaurant for a delicious lunch. I understand the Corvette Club makes this trip a few times a year, so I believe we should have a good time.
    It was interesting each time I made this trip, but more when we meet on the 18th.
    Hope to see YA ALL!

  • Sat Jun 22 - 56th Annual June Jamboree – Regional Northern New Jersey Section & S NJ
    "The longest running MBCA event" - at The Park Avenue Club, Florham Park, NJ
    The Park Avenue Club is conveniently located near major roadways and is easy to get to. Here is a link for directions: Park Avenue Club
    The cars will be broken down into two categories:
      - Concours (judged by a team of judges according to MBCA guidelines)
      - Popular (voted on by those in attendance)
    The cars in Concours class are then further broken down according to chassis.
    Concours cars need to be detailed and will be judged in four categories:
      1 - Interior, Upholstery, Trunk;
      2 - Glass, Lights, Rubber, Chrome, Trim;
      3 - Engine Compartment;
      4 - Paint, Coachwork; and points are also given for mileage and age.
    There is a mandatory 2-point deduction if your car is trailered to the event.
      - Popular Vote cars are divided into two categories (Sedan and Sport) and then further broken down by year:
      - New: 2014 to present;
      - Modern: 2004 - 2013;
      - Old: 1994 - 2003;
      - Vintage: pre 1994
    Advice for the Popular Vote cars is to "Give the baby a bath" and come enjoy a good time with fellow Benz enthusiasts.
    Cars over 25 years old are also eligible for the Silver Star Preservation Certificate you can be in either Popular or Concours and have your car judged for this certificate.
    The cost to enter a car is $65 and this fee includes lunch for the driver and the front seat passenger.
    Additional lunches are $35 each for those over 12.
    You may attend the Jamboree and just join us for lunch if you do not wish to enter a car. It is more cost effective if there are two of you planning on attending to just enter a car, and if you do not want to detail it, just put it in Popular vote. You save $5 by entering a car and not just purchasing lunch.
    Registration will begin at 8:30 AM. You will need to pull your car up the driveway and under the portico in order to receive your registration packet and be given your assigned parking spot.
    Please place your window sign on your window along with your scoresheet if you are participating in the concours. If you do not want anyone touching your vehicle without you being there, you must remain with your car during the judging time.
    Judging will begin at 10:45 and at that time, there will be no more detailing of the cars allowed. In your registration packet there will be color coded votes for the Popular Vote cars - please match the color of the vote to the color of the window sign - votes not matching the correct color will be discarded. All popular votes begin with a letter followed by a number. After the judging is completed, we will enter the dining room for lunch. While the members are eating the scorekeepers will be tallying up the results - please be patient during this time.
    This is a rain or SHINE event - so let's all of us hope for a dry day. Looking forward to seeing many of you at the event. If anyone is interested in helping to judge or to help in other ways, please email me with the subject line: Willing to help at the June Jamboree.

  • Fri-Mon Aug 23-26 - August Track Event In Our Region – Northeast Region Event
    An event is planned for the weekend of August 23-26 (Friday through Monday) at Thompson Motor Speedway in Thompson, Connecticut by the safety and performance driving committees that will include safety instruction (The Club's Safe Drivers/Safe Families program). Both slow and fast speed track time for members and their invited guests, including some autocross driving competition for all at lower speeds.
    Come for one day or all 4.
    Connecticut is a 'short' drive for most of our region.
    This is a joint effort with the Lotus Club, and should make for an interesting weekend with lots to see and do in the nearby area as well. The Autocross, Performance Driving Experience and the Performance Driving are all done on the track, shared with Lotus Club and other cars. Other performance cars are welcome to attend.
    Our hotel base is the Publick House, in Sturbridge MA, a historic inn with great modern accommodations. Make your reservations early, as this is the high season for Sturbridge, MA.
    The event is being organized by two Directors at Large, Ernie Fancy and Jim Roberts, with help and support from both Bill Fisher (Mid Atlantic Regional Director) and Drew Webb (Northeast Regional Director).
    They plan to have several non-driving activities as well, an awards banquet, and there will be a call for a few volunteers to help run the event.
    Initial fees are:
    • Performance Driving: $300 for one day
    • Performance Driving Experience: $100 (Drive track at highway speeds)
    • Autocross: about $60
    • Safe Driver - Safe Family Program: $20

  • Sat Oct 5 (changed/confirmed date) - Fall Frolic Road Rally – NEPA Section Event
    Our popular Fall Rally is scheduled to be held Saturday October 5th, 2019. This rally will again begin with an optional breakfast from 9AM to 10AM at the Schnecksville Diner on Route 309 about twelve miles North of Allentown, at which time your rally master will hand out and explain the rules of the road and general instructions for this rally.
    Again, this year our rally will consist of only one leg beginning with breakfast and ending with lunch on your own. This shortened route proved popular with participants last year and will be the format used again in this fall rally.
    If you are a member of our club, a sister club or a potential club member who would like to try your hand in one of our club rallies, we suggest you give it a try. All models of Mercedes cars, any year, any type are welcome and encouraged to participate. If for some reason your Mercedes is unavailable, you can use another car. There is no previous experience necessary and virtually all who have attended our rallies in the past have universally enjoyed the experience.
    Our rally is in no way a race, take all the time you need to complete the task. The rally is simply a contest in which you follow a predetermined route while searching for answers to questions whose answers can be found along the way. Our hope is no one will answer all the questions correctly, after all someone must win the rally.
    We require at least two people in each car, a driver and a navigator, however additional people are welcome in each car. As noted above members of sister Mercedes clubs and potential club members are, as always, invited to attend.

    Congrats to Mike & Nancy on their win!
